Eggebek Open House 2003 |
Marinefliegergeschwader 2 held an open house on the 24th of August 2003. MFG 2 was celebrating the 45th anniversary of the unit and 90 years of naval aviation in Germany. Prior to this open house, Naval Air station Eggebek opened the gates for aviation enthousiast on the friday and the saturday. All the pictures below are made on the friday and the saturday. |

Marinefliegergeschwader 2 provided one of their Tornado, the 45+30, with special markings to celebrate the 45th anniversary of the unit and 90 years of Naval Aviation in Germany. |
Marinefliegergeschwader 3, based at Nordholz, came to Eggebek with several aircraft. One of them was this Dornier Do-228, serial 57+03. |

| One of the few aircraft on Eggebek that was wearing special markings was this SeaKing Mk.41, serial 89+57. This helicopter belongs to Marinefliegergeschwader 5 that is based at Kiel-Holtenau. This helicopters was painted to celebrate 45 years of Search and Rescue (SAR). |

The Luftwaffe came to Eggebek with this special painted Mig-29, serial 29+10, from JG 73. The operational use of the "Fulcrum" in service with the Luftwaffe will soon be history. All the Migs are sold to Poland. |

Another aircraft of the Luftwaffe that will be withdrawn from use in the near future is the F-4F Phantom. Several Phantoms are already phased out. This F-4F/ICE Phantom, serialled 38+02, still flies and belongs to Jagdgeschwader 74. |
| This Bo.105P, serialled 86+66, recieved a special colour scheme to celebrate 30 years of service whithin the German Army. The Bo-105P belongs to the Heeresflieger Waffenschule. |

The Royal Netherlands Air Force also came with a Fokker 60UTA-N, U-03, "Jan Borghouts". It is assigned to 334 Squadron wich is based at Eindhoven Air Base. |
| One of the four A-4N Skyhawks of Flight Systems, N347FS, came to Eggebek. All the Skyhawk are based at Wittmund. In February 2002 this type replaced the F-100 Super Sabres.. |

Two Harrier Gr.7's were parked together on the static. One of them, the ZD323/04, is seen here during its arrival at Eggebek. Both aircraft are assigned to 4 Squadron with homebase RAF Cottesmore. |
