Recce Meet 2003 - Florennes

Once again, Florennes was the place to be. After the first edition which was held in 2002, the Belgian Air Force organised for the second time a Reconnaissance Meet. Host unit was No. 1 Squadron which is based at Florennes. On the last day of the July, the gates were open for local people as well as aviation enthousiast. The sun could be seen often so many people enjoyed the day, including myself.

F-16AM, FA-108, belongs to 2 Wing and is seen here leaving Florennes.

Alpha Jet, AT-26, didn't participate in the excersise but came to Florennes to fly a demo. The Alpha Jets of the Belgium Air Force are based at Beauvechain.

Sweden also participated in the excercise. One of the AJSF-37 Viggens, 37951/50, returns from the mission. This example belongs to F21.

Another AJSF-37, 37957/56, is seen here in take off. This Viggen is also assigned to F21.

Tp84, 84005/845, is seen here after landing. The Hercules came to Florennes to pick up the equipment of the Swedish participants . .

The pilot of Jaguar GR.3A, XZ360/FN, decided to make a low pass but then a little bit lower. This Jaguar belongs to 41 Squadron 

Another Jaguar of the Royal Air Force is seen her making a pass. This Jaguar with serial XX737/EE also belongs to 41 Squadron.

The award winning Tornado of the NATO Tiger meet from AG.51 took part in the excercise. Tornado IDS, 43+96, belongs to AG 51 which is based at Schleswig-Jagel, Germany.

Another aircraft wearing special markings was this Mirage F.1CR, 608/33-NG. The Mirage belongs to (ER) 2/33 which is based at Reims.

Besides of the Tornado's, the Italian Air Force also came with two AMX reconnaissance aircraft. One of them was this nicely painted AMX. The MM7142 belongs to 132 Gruppo.
